STATEMENT OF PRIVACY PRACTICES
PLEASE READ THIS STATEMENT OF PRIVACY PRACTICES CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE ORA SERVICES.
Effective: March 27, 2013
This statement of privacy practices describes Ora Net, LLC’s (“Ora,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) practices with respect to collection, use, and disclosure of personal information at the ora.net website (“Site”) and the Ora software, including the mobile Ora App (collectively, including all content provided by Ora through the Ora App and Site, the “Service”). By using the Services, you signify your consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information. IF YOU DO NOT CONSENT TO THE COLLECTION, USE, AND DISCLOSURE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION, PLEASE DO NOT USE THE SERVICE.
This statement only applies to the information you provide to us through the Service. It does not apply to information collected by us through other means or by third parties linked in any way to the Service. We have no control over, and no responsibility or liability for, any third party’s collection, use, disclosure, or retention of the personal information and that collection, use, disclosure, and retention is not subject to this statement.
2. Changes to this Statement of Privacy Practices
We will occasionally update this statement. When we post changes to this statement, we will revise the "Effective Date" date at the top of this statement. We recommend that you check the Site from time to time to inform yourself of any changes in this statement or any of our other policies.
3. Statement of Privacy Practices Incorporated in Terms of Service
Your use of the Service is governed by the Ora Terms of Service. The Terms of Service contain important provisions, including provisions disclaiming, limiting, and excluding the liability of Ora for your use of the Service and provisions determining the applicable law and exclusive jurisdiction for the resolution of any disputes regarding your use of the Service. Each of the provisions of the Terms of Service applies to any disputes that may arise in relation to this statement of privacy practices and the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information and are of the same force and effect as if they had been reproduced directly in this statement.
4. What Is Personal Information?
In general, your personal information means information by which you, as an individual, can be identified. It includes information such as your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address. Your personal information includes sensitive personal data, which is information as to your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious, philosophical or similar beliefs, trade union membership, physical or mental health, sexual life, commission of criminal offenses and involvement in criminal proceedings.
5. Information That You Manually Provide
We collect and you intentionally provide through the Service personal information when you post it to the Service or send it to us, including, but not limited to when you create an account on the Service. It is your choice whether to send personal information to us. Some information must be provided in order to participate in certain services, features, programs, or activities, so the decision not to provide information may limit or eliminate certain functions of the Service or your ability to participate. The types of personal information that we tend to request about you include, but are not limited to: your name, email address, interests and activities, birthday, city, zip code, and demographic information such as age and gender. Unless we expressly ask for sensitive personal information, you should not supply it.
6. Information You Provide About Yourself While Using the Service
We provide areas on our Service where you can share information about yourself and others and communicate with others. Through the Service you may post prayer requests, comments to other prayer requests, and rate other prayer requests. All prayer requests you post are viewable by other Ora users unless you designate them as “private” at the time of creation or limit them to specific prayer circles. You may post prayer requests to the a Public Prayer Circle, and that prayer request will be viewable by any Ora user. The only way you can stop others from viewing a public prayer request is to delete it. You may restrict your prayer request to specific prayer circles, either your private prayer circle(s), or an organizational prayer circle. Other users may view your prayer request and click on your username link, which will show your profile information, which includes, but is not limited to your other prayer requests and public prayer circle membership. Organizational members may also post prayer requests and any comments you make to those prayer requests are viewable by other users and other users will be able to click on your username and view your profile. However, any comments posted to individual prayer requests will only be viewable by the creator of the prayer request. If you post a comment to an individual’s prayer request, he or she will be able to see your username and click on your username to see your profile information. You may also send messages to other users and the recipient will see your username and may also click on it to see your profile or to send you a response message. We encourage you to exercise discretion and caution with respect to including your personal information in prayer requests you create or other public portions of the Service. Remember, any personal information you include in your prayer request may be viewable by others and we encourage you to be careful in the type of personal information you share. For example, including your name and location or other potentially identifying information in a prayer request may not be safe if you are located in a country or jurisdiction that does not allow religious statements or activity.
You may also join various prayer circles in the Service. If you join a prayer circle, other users in the prayer circle will be able to see that you are member of that prayer circle. If you join an open (“free association”) prayer circle, other users who view your profile will see that you are a member of that open prayer circle. If you join a private prayer circle, only those members of the private prayer circle will see that you are a member of that private prayer circle.
You may also choose to share information with third-parties such as social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter (“Social Sites”) by “sharing” your prayer quests. See Section 15 (Third Party Websites) for more information.
